Es war einmal ...

Als ich 8 Jahre alt war, schenkte mir meine Großmutter, die selbst ihr Leben lang kreativ war, ein Paket FIMO. Daraus formte ich kleine Bilderrahmen, verzierte sie mit Blüten, Tieren oder Mustern und verschenkte sie an meine Familie. Im Laufe der Jahre entstanden so viele Dinge, die zum Teil noch heute in meinem Elternhaus zu finden sind.

Als GOLDSCHMIEDIN lernte ich dann, aus Metallen, Edelsteinen und andere Materialien wertvollen Schmuck zu gestalten. Eine wunderbare Arbeit! Aber neugierig wie ich nun einmal bin, wollte ich noch mehr lernen und studierte INDUSTRIE DESIGN. Die meiste Zeit verbrachte ich in der Modellbau-Werkstatt, wo ich mit Metall, Ton, Holz, Kunststoff, Steingut, Porzellan und vielen anderen Materialen werken konnte. Nach dem Diplom arbeitete ich zwei Jahre als Messe-Designerin und kam so auch zur Grafik.

Seit fast 15 Jahren betreibe ich jetzt meine eigene kleine GRAFIK AGENTUR in Norddeutschland. Neben meiner grafischen Arbeit habe ich im letzten Jahr Polymer Clay neu für mich entdeckt und will es in Zukunft noch mehr mit Goldschmiedetechniken verbinden.

Once upon a time ... 

When I was 8 years old my grandma, who was creative all of her lifetime, gave a package of FIMO to me. I started to build small picture frames with flowers, animals or patterns on to use them as gifts for my family members. Over the years I never let FIMO go and lot's of things are still decorating my parents' house.

As a GOLDSMITH I learned to make jewelry out of precious and non precious materials and I loved my work dearly. But curious as I am, I started to study INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. My favorite things then were building mock-ups, working with metal, clay, wood, plastics, porcelain and many materials more. After my degree I worked as an exhibition designer for two years. I now run my own small GRAPHIC AGENCY in the North of Germany for nearly 15 years and I just started to combine more of my skills in partly returning to jewelry - with polymer clay and silver.

These are some sweets my daughter and me made out of FIMO when she was about 8 years old ... Story to be continued ...?
